AN APPEAL FOR YOUR SUPPORT

After years of independently funding and producing the documentary Mutiny: Asians Storm British Music, we are at a crucial stage. While Mutiny is completed, there are still significant financial hurdles to getting the film into theatrical and DVD distribution. These include a final sound edit, color-correction, and the securing of commercial licenses for music and archival footage.

Many independent films have reached this point and, because of the high costs involved, not made it any further - so, after a brief run in the festival circuit, they have remained inaccessible to the broader public. You can help ensure that Mutiny does not share this fate.

The Mutiny documentary has been a DIY, grassroots effort from the beginning. Now we turn to you to help us get over the remaining hurdles to ensure that the film gets out into the world - and that it makes the impact it was meant to make as one of the only historical records of a crucial moment in the history of British Asian music, in the history of the global South Asian "second-generation", and in the long history of connections between music and politics, music and social change.

2) Make a Donation to the Singh Foundation's Mutiny Finishing Fund
You can make a tax-deductible donation of any amount via PayPal to the Mutiny Finishing Fund. The Finishing Fund has been set up and is administered by The SINGH Foundation, a registered not-for-profit organization which supports progressive South Asian scholars, filmmakers, artists, and community organizations. Donations can be made online through PayPal or mailed in by check. Funds raised through this effort will go toward the securing of commercial music and archival licenses and doing the finishing sound and image work necessary to get Mutiny into distribution.

Please note that the charge on your credit card will be to the SINGH Foundation, the non-profit fiscal sponsor which will be administering this fund. If you fill out your address in the "Shipping Address" section of the PayPal payment process, you will be sent a confirmation letter to be used to claim your contribution as a tax-deductible donation.

Donors of any amount $50 and above will have their names listed on a Donors Page to be put up on the Mutiny website.

Donors of any amount $500 or above will have their names listed on the Donors Page and in the credits of the final film.
