As one of the youngest members of the US Asian Massive, Producer/DJ Zakhm (aka Atul Ohri) is invading the soundspace with ethereal, genre-bending rhythms that draw upon a wide-range of sonic influences. Zakhm's live sets and originally produced tracks weave together an eclectic and intriguing blend of South Asian melodies, drum and bass rollers and hip-hop beats and the result is an emotionally moving musical journey that never fails to get the crowd moving.
His talents have also attracted the attention of some of the most prominent members of the musical community. In addition to his residency at the premier South Asian club night MUTINY, Zakhm has been showcased at numerous events worldwide. In 2002 he toured the United States as part of the Asian Massive Tour, performing alongside some of the industry's top players - Karsh Kale, DJ Cheb i Sabbah and the Midival Punditz. He also travelled to London in April and November of 2002 to do shows with Swaraj, one of the UK's top underground acts. After the Asian Massive Tour Zakhm made an extended trip to India where he performed at a number of shows around the subcontinent in addition to working on a number of his own projects. In recent months Zakhm has been invited to perform at some of the most well respected venues in New York City alongside some of the most innovative artists in the electronica scene - including Layo and Bushwacka! at Centro-Fly, The New Deal at Webster Hall, Karsh Kale at Bowery Ballroom and DJ Cheb i Sabbah at Knitting Factory. Zakhm has also guest DJed at many other events, including Dhamaal/Azaad (San Francisco), Kandyflip (San Francisco), Full Moon Monday (Cleveland), Pyrotechnic Radio (London), Stuka (Houston), Breakbeat Science's Acupuncture (New York), Karsh Kale's Distance (New York) and High Chai (New York).
